Michael Bisping: “I want Weidman next.”
Its been nine days since Middleweight Champion Michael “The Count” Bisping successfully defended his title for the first time at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The fight went the full five rounds against Dan “Hendo” Henderson, who Bisping describes as “A national treasure”. Some UFC fighters, media and every Henderson fan from here to Timbucktou say Henderson was robbed, but Bisping remains confident that he won the fight, stating on The MMA Hour “Two shots is all he landed, a victory is a victory and I am happy with it”.
Bisping has finally got his revenge against then ranked number 13 middleweight now retired Henderson for his Brutal KO at UFC 100 and can now put them demon’s too rest. The undisputed Champions main concern now is that he has got a group of killers chasing after his crown with Chris Weidman vs Yoel Romero 12th November in NYC and Luke Rockhold vs Ronaldo Souza fighting in Melbourne on the 27th November. Asked by Ariel Helwani who he would like next his reply was, “I want Weidman next. If he get’s past Yoel Romero, I’ll happily fight him next, he’s a good match up for me. I’ll happily take on the number one contender now”.
Bisping overtook George St Pierre (who today announced his status as a free agent) for most wins in the UFC, with a solid 20 wins under his belt. A Fighters Only insider tipped Bisping as a good bet to win fighter of the year, fight of the year, upset of the year and KO of the year. Phew what a year it may be for Michael Bisping, well done mate.
