UFC 206 in The 6ix

The UFC is returning to Toronto after a 3 year absence from the city, UFC 206 will be held in the Air Canada Center on the 10th December.

Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson will fight for the light heavyweight belt for a second time as the main or co-main event depending on what other fights the UFC have lined up for this card. The last time these two meet was in 2015 at UFC 187, DC won that night by RNC in the third round to claim light heavyweight gold.

Three lightweight fights have been scheduled for this card between John Makdessi vs Lando Vannara,  Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs Drew Dobber and Rustam Khabilov. One fly weight fight between Zack Makovsky vs John Moraga and one woman’s straw weight fight between Valerie Letourneau and Polina Botelho have also been announced.

Canadians Patrick Cote, Elias Theodorou and Steve Bosse should also be on this card having all fought on the Ottowa card back in June, expect to see fight’s announced for these guys in the coming days.

A big name for 206 would have been GSP and with the Canadian superstar stating his intent to come out of retirement earlier this year Toronto would have been the perfect opportunity for his return but contract negotiations have been rocky between GSP and the UFC. The UFC have been know to pull the rabbit out of the hat on occasion’s, just look at McGregor vs Alvarez in MSG, let’s hope they can get a deal done and get George on this card.
